THE FESTIVAL
The idea of the “VALSESIA CANOE FILM FESTIVAL” was conceived and carried out by two people: Angelo Vergani (canoeist and author of the book,
Fuga nella Gola - Lampi di Stampa, Milano, 2004 and Attrazione Fluviale – Biblioteca dell’Immagine, Pordenone, 2011) and Paolo Vimercati (Mayor of Campertogno), who are both Directors of the Festival. The Festival is organized by the company Sinergia snc with the support of the Council of Campertogno and the sponsorship of various public institutions and sports associations.

THE MISSION
THE VALSESIA CANOE FILM FESTIVAL sets out to show films and documentaries of canoe-kayak trips to little known places on the planet: journeys of exploration and adventure.The VALSESIA CANOE FILM FESTIVAL aims to open a window of awareness of the world of rivers by showing high quality films and documentaries which open people's eyes to the beauty and uniqueness of canoeing on rivers.
THE FILMS
Films from any country made in 2012-2013 may be shown, non-commercial (self-produced). All languages other than Italian or English must have subtitles in Italian and English.The quality of images, content and directorship should be of a high standard, and films should be an original record of journeys or adventures by canoe along rivers and mountain streams around the world. They should not contain personal promotion or self-advertising.
The Festival sections are three:

SECTION I - ADVENTURE KAYAK
Films concerning travels in canadian canoe on worldwide rivers or torrents having different difficult degrees, looking for new continents and different cultures:
"WHITE WATERS, MEDIUM DISTANCES, LOGISTIC DIFFICULTIES"

SECTION II - TRAVELLING BY CANOE OR KAYAK
Films concerning travels by canadian canoe or kayak on worldwide rivers looking for new landscapes and cultures:
"CALM WATER, LONG DISTANCES, LOGISTIC DIFFICULTIES"
Duration: max30 minutes

SECTION III - EXTREME KAYAK
Films concerning kayak descends on very challenging rivers: "WHITE WATER, HIGH RISK, ATHLETIC GESTURE"
Duration: max 15 minutes
THE TARGET AUDIENCE
The VALSESIA CANOE FILM FESTIVAL is aimed at anyone who loves documentaries about nature and adventurous journeys, at canoeists and young people who want to embark on the discipline of canoeing on the river.In order to attract new generations of young people into this wonderful sport, we decided to dedicate a section of the festival for students of all schools in the Val Sesia on Friday morning.

THE JURY PANEL
Films and documentaries accepted for the Festival will be judged at the Sala of the Centro Polifunzionale Fra' Dolcino of Campertogno on Saturday 25 May 2013 at the end of the screenings. The panel of five people will judge the documentaries according to the criteria outlined in the Festival RegulationsMembers of the panel:
